I'd Like To Call It Beauty

The melody, the words... are like nourishment to my soul. So beautiful

The Words

 So young for death,
We walk in shoes too big
But you play it like a poet,
Like you always did.
And I lay face upturned on the palm of God,
Pushed on by the fingertips of dreams,
 They haunted me,
 Consoling me.

And I would like to call, call it beauty,
Strained as love's become, it still amazes me
And I would like to call it beauty, ....

You slept a sigh like the angels speak,
And we danced into tomorrow on bleeding feet
And I had thought that I would die here
But you pushed me on,
You pushed me on,
You pushed me on (Oh)

And I would like to call it beauty,
Strained as love's become, it still amazes me
And I would like to call it beauty, ....

You can keep it all locked up in your laden chest
Or you can lay mouth open on the water's edge
But all your angels and your God will stitch and wash you

Oh I would like to call, call it beauty,
Strained as love's become, it still amazes me
And I would like to call it beauty, ....

The Melody

Poem by Chrisette Michele

For Freedom Not For Beauty

There’s a beauty that lives so deep inside each of us.

There’s a fickle eye

that doesn’t believe anything it sees.

There’s a benefit in love that erases all doubt and believes good intentions.

There’s an ear that isn’t free enough to give the honest man the benefit of the doubt cluttered by lies not-mentioned.

Since when is creativity subject to criticism?

When is honesty subject to a jury of fears who wouldn’t believe rain if it fell, or sun if it shined?

Sometimes a flower grows when no ones watching.

Sometimes a bird sings and no one hears.

There’s a meadow no one runs on and a cloud no one names.

And what would the sky be with out the sun?

What would the earth be with out its rose?

They’d still be the sky and the Earth.

So perhaps there is a peace in becoming.

Perhaps the meaning is in the experience and not the sight.

Maybe a flower grows because it suffocates under ground.

Whether or not she is always noticed, beauty must become.

She doesn’t look for an eye.

She doesn’t listen for a voice.

She just becomes,

For Freedom Not For Beauty

Compliments, "As Good As It Gets"

In the above clip the guy has OCD and he's extremely quirky but he likes her! In previous troubled waters she bartered staying for dinner with a compliment, to which he did an excellent job, got her to say but because of his interminable rude tendencies she soon left. The final scene of the movie brings about this compliment. The first time I heard it I remember going OH MY GOSH, I totally get that :) [huge smile!] If you find that's cheesy you haven't read to the end of this post! That's only the synopsis.

I was just thinking about this clip and how it so perfectly encapsulates the essence of what a lot of women want from their partners. To feel that that other person sees you.....not just as super special...but sees you, and recognizes and appreciates all the unique things that make you you! Did you just hurl?! Stop it! C'mon now, I'm serious... when I get dressed up and I know I'm looking good, the only other person that can compliment me and turn me into caramel hot chocolate on the inside is my boo. And I won't lie, I miss it if I don't get it... smh cuz I don't know what it is!!! but a compliment from the person I most desire in the this world is like a mirror reflection of premium verbal affirmation! I don't know about you but, there's something in a compliment from the right him :) "And the fact that I get it makes me feel good...about me!"

Where have you been?...Soul mate

Hey pg's it's been a while I know. Two words, HECTIC + TIMES. The good news is it's over now and the blog can live again.

The other day I was watching an episode from Sex in the City and the girls were chatting about the infamous term "soul mate". Each of the girls had their own personal take on the term, one expressed deeply romantic sentiments about the term as she believed it existed while another felt there were multiple soul mates that a person could have and refrained from the belief that soul mates were confined to a binary assortment of souls in the world. Finally the last of the girls felt that she wasn't even sure if soul mates even exist? or what the term really is? which reminded me of where I once was on this term.

The episode had the most pleasing close to it, one that truly touched home for me. I think the girls got it right, a soul mate shouldn't be restricted to just being about a partner. Like them I think I have found soul mates in my girlfriends. I mean really think about that for a second. Your closest friend(s) some of whom know you since you've been a child have come to know you like the back of their hand. They know you even more than your life partner in many ways AND while you hope and believe that things will work out between the HIM in your life, you never hope that your closest friend(s) will be there for the rest of your life because they're tried and true, and fights, awful terrible ones on numerous occasions throughout your lifetime together have left you inseparable and still completely bound to each other. I mean, what's more soul mate than that!?!

Cheers, to my two soulmates you know who you are, love yous twos ;)

Hit the clip, it picks up at the end of the day on Carrie's birthday..:)

Happy Valentine's Day!

So it's that time again! Well how about some V-day laughter then, I mean I get the feeling it's taken a bit too seriously sometimes, Ashton Kutcher is right on the money if you ask me:

"I hate Valentine's Day, I think every Day should be a Day of romance. Then, on Valentine's Day , you should get to tell whoever you hate that you cannot stand them. There would be one Day of hating, and 364 Days of love."- Ashton Kutcher

"I wanted to make it really special on Valentine's day, so I tied my boyfriend up. And for three solid hours I watched whatever I wanted on TV."- Tracy Smith

I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.-Anonymous

If love is blind why is Valentine's Day so popular!- Anonymous

"True love comes quietly, without banners or flashing lights. If you hear bells, get your ears checked."- Erich Segal

"Love is like an hourglass, with the heart filling up as the brain empties."-Jules Renard

So don't forget it's live, love, LAUGH on Valentine's Day! And everyone has a Valentine, because we all have people we love and love us back! V-day is NOT RESERVED for couples, but it is reserved for LOVE and that we've got in abundance, so have an Apple Martini for the plaingirls today. Much love! ;)
